The Threat of Homegrown Terrorism

Today I am posting a Special Report by FOX News Channel on home grown terrorism that was put together after a special report was released by the NYPD. I feel that this is an important story and will be posting it here on this site for as long as possible and all credit for the report should go to FOX News Channel for the special Jihad USA Homegrown Terror.

I would also like to take the time to applaud NYPD Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly, and the NYPD as a whole for their continued vigilance and resolve. More police agencies around the country should follow their lead.

The complete NYPD Intelligence report can be found here Radicalization in the West: The Homegrown Threat.

The Videos are below in a four part series below.

Welcome to Our New Home

Today is a new day in a sense as we launch the blog from its new domain Disaster Preparedness Blog.

With this change will come more frequent updates and more information on how you can prepare yourself and your business for an emergency or disaster.

Over the next few months the Disaster Preparedness Blog will also be getting a few cosmetic changes until I feel satisfied with the flow, feel and look of the site. Of course I may never be satisfied with the look completely, but the overall content will remain the same and focus on Disaster Preparedness.

My Return

Well, I have returned from what was supposed to be a one month hiatus that turned into two months. It was a much needed break however and took a nice trip back to my hometown NYC where I spent time with family.

Anyway, let’s get back down to business here. Sometimes unfortunate events occur even if all safety protocols are followed. For instance, Sunday in Orlando, FL 40 people attending Wrestlemania 24 were injured when a fireworks malfunction caused minor burns to people in the stands.

Reports say about 74,000 people were in attendance at the Florida Citrus bowl Stadium for the event. When one of the four cables suspending the fireworks display above the stadium broke loose and caused the fireworks to shoot down into the stadium and on the fans below. Three people were transported to the hospital.

Officials say that the WWE had done everything right, filed the correct permits and had conducted tests. It appears to be an unfortunate accident according to investigators.

Below is some RAW footage of the incident, hard to view but we will update it if we get better video.

Here is a much better video of the event thanks to tbdrunk
